Somnath Chatterjee is Executive Vice President and Head of Procurement & Logistics for ITC's Foods Division — one of India's most diversified FMCG portfolios, spanning the Aashirvaad atta and salt brand, Sunfeast, Bingo!, Yippee!, Sunbean, Fabelle, Candyman and the rapidly-growing branded-edibles range.

His career spans more than 33 years of supply-chain leadership across agri-FMCG, with end-to-end responsibility for raw-material sourcing, refining and processing inputs, freight, warehousing and the cold-chain and dry-chain logistics that underpin one of India's largest packaged-foods businesses.

He is widely consulted on the procurement economics of Indian FMCG — how the largest organised buyers contract, hedge and warehouse against price volatility in wheat, sugar, dairy, edible-oils, spices and pulses.

On the GLOBOIL stage, his contribution is the FMCG-buyer view: how a category-defining branded-foods player sees the edible-oils market not as an end in itself but as a critical input cost that flows through to consumer prices on every kirana shelf in India.
