Thomas Mielke

Thomas Mielke is the Executive Director of ISTA Mielke GmbH and the editor of Oil World — the Hamburg-based publication that has set the standard for independent forecasting and analysis of the global oilseeds, vegetable oils and oil meals complex for over six decades.

Founded by his father, Oil World is read across producer governments, refining majors, trading houses, banks and policy desks in over 90 countries. Mielke has been a regular plenary voice at GLOBOIL India for more than two decades, with his annual production and demand outlook forming one of the most anticipated sessions of the conference each year.

His work is widely cited in commentary from the USDA, the EU Commission, MPOC, GAPKI, CPOPC and the major commodity exchanges. At GLOBOIL India 2026 he will deliver his annual outlook covering palm, soybean, sunflower, rapeseed and the broader supply-demand balance for the 2026–27 marketing year, with particular focus on the impact of biofuel mandates, Indonesian export reform and Indian demand dynamics.
