Mohd Saleem Kader Bakas

Mohd Saleem Kader Bakas is the Director of the Derivatives Market at Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Berhad, the exchange that hosts the FCPO crude palm oil futures contract — the global benchmark for palm oil price discovery and the world's most actively traded vegetable oil derivative.

In his role, Bakas oversees product development, liquidity-building, market participant engagement and the operational architecture of the palm oil derivatives ecosystem at Bursa. He represents the exchange in dialogue with refiners, plantation companies, trading houses, banks and proprietary funds across Southeast Asia, India, China, the Middle East and Europe.

At GLOBOIL India 2026 he will speak on the Trading Panel and host the Bursa Malaysia derivatives briefing, addressing hedging strategy, open-interest dynamics, the recent palm-soy spread behaviour, and the role of FCPO in managing the operational risk created by Indonesia's single-gate export reform.
